Sarah was brought up in Whitchurch and joined Rhiwbina Dental Surgery in 2005 as a trainee dental nurse. Sarah qualified in 2007, is registered with the GDC and is a member of the British Association of Dental Nurses.
Sarah has worked in all aspects of dentistry within the practice and is a team player. She is particularly interested in assisting with surgical procedures such as implants and enjoys being part of a patient’s journey, whether it be routine care or a smile transformation.
With the opening of The Pines in 2010, Sarah was invited to become head nurse. Her responsibilities involve organising the nurses and dentists within the clinical environment, assisting the managers at courses held within the practice, and ensuring clinical standards are maintained at all times. Sarah is responsible for the liaison with the various inspection and accreditation agencies.
In 2010 Sarah was awarded a certificate in Dental Radiography, which allows her to take X-rays within the dental environment. She has also attended many courses, including Nurses Training for Dental Implants; First Aid at Work; Good Clinical Practice for Research (GCP) updates; HTM 01-05 decontamination updates and Level 2 Fire Marshall Training.
At the end of 2010 Sarah spent some time enjoying family life after the birth of her son, Morgan. Keen to further her dental skills after returning from maternity leave in 2011, she has since completed courses and gained qualifications in Phlebotomy, the taking of dental impressions and the removal of sutures.
In 2012 Sarah was a Dental Nurse Trainer for Cardiff University Dental Postgraduate Education in Wales. Her role included supervising and hands-on training at the chairside for trainee dental nurses within the dental environment.
In her own time, Sarah enjoys days out to the beach with the family, the cinema, socialising with friends and skiing.
